Daily Log: MK

Day Seven: 5/20/16

We've come to a standstill of sorts. We're missing TH today, and that means its up to the three of us to figure out what tools/add-ons we want to use to complete the challenges.  This means trying to come up with ways to complete the challenges, buying the materials, and building hydraulic systems to operate tongs/meat-grabbers/etc. This project seems a little more daunting now that we're not following a guide... Good luck to us I guess.

Day Six: 5/19/16

Our ROV is fully assembled! Well, fully assembled in the sense that we've attached the thrusters and got the control box working. We also tested out buoyancy and made sure our vehicle can sink via vertical thruster but still float to the surface. Props to LL for coming in on Tuesday and finishing up! She's done a great job.

Day Five: 5/13/16

Today TH and I finished up drilling the holes to attach the thrusters, assembled the framework of our ROV, and added the payload net with zipties. LL seems discouraged in her soldering job; I tried to give her as much encouragement as I could. LM came in yesterday after school to make up her absence and seems on time in terms of thruster-building. Let's keep up the good work everyone!

Day Four: 5/11/16

Today I was helping TH with the frame-building, namely in wire-cutting and drilling drain holes. LM and LL seemed perfectly capable on their own. I don't know if we can get to the thruster holes today, but I'm hoping we'll have all elbows drilled for Friday. I don't want us to be behind. Friday's our last day of building, and next week we have to get testing in the water. Fingers crossed all goes well!

Day Three: 5/10/16

Today we finished up our brand-new Challenge tab, which describes the tasks our ROV must complete and their real-world implications. We also had our interview with Ms. S, and got our materials. As team leader I'm not assigned to one of the building tasks, but will be helping TH (in charge of building the mainframe) and LM (in charge of assembling the thrusters) for a majority of the building process. Hopefully LL will be able to hold her own.

Day Two: 5/6/16

MK again. Today we are working together on gathering knowledge for our "What is an ROV?" page. We hope it is understandable and interesting. This research also prepares us for an interview with Ms. S. If we complete it successfully we will be granted our materials.

Day One: 5/4/16

Hello! This is MK. I'm the team leader of the Squid Squad. Today we were assigned teams, got our positions, and began setting up this blog. Hopefully this default theme will be gone in no time! I have given out building/assembly tasks for the future and am helping LL get the blog set up and ready.
